Cockroaches are very common in New England and have been reported to spread at least 33 kinds of bacteria, 6 kinds of parasites and 7 other known human pathogens. They pick up germs with their bodies and legs as they crawl through decaying matter or sewage and then carry these into food, floors and tables. Recent studies show that cockroach allergens cause allergies and asthma attacks, especially in children.

Description:

  • Size: Up to 2 inches long
  • Color: Typically a Reddish-Brown

Characteristics:

  • Cockroaches are most active at night, and during the day they’ll hide out in cracks and other crevices around the house. In cases of extreme infestation you’ll start seeing them even during daylight hours.
  • They move in uninvited looking for food and shelter, and shortly after that they start the spread of bacteria that can cause nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and in some cases their previously shed skin and feces can trigger asthma attacks
  • Roaches are also known to secrete an odor that produces a musty smell, officially making them the worst house guests on the planet.
